2 Taku Mafika Commemoration Shows On The Way

7 Years ago on 12 October, we woke up to the sad news of the passing away of the great Mbira Maestro Taku Mafika, Now celebrations for his Life's work are on the way.

This is not the first time this event is being held , 2 commemorations were once held in the recent years & though this is said to be an annual event, reasons are unknown why the team failed to host these shows the other past 5 years. In an interview with Taku's brother Carlos MobG, he confirmed that this year The Taku Mafika Commemoration will be held twice, one in Harare & another in Chivhu - Taku's hometown. Details of the commemoration concerning the venues, actual dates & performers are to be released soon on the posters which are due any time from now. There is also a  dedication track tilted Tambira which features a number of artists is set to be released on the 31st of October which is Taku's birthday , more details on the track will also be made available soon.
